Mumbai Indians Vs Banglore Royal Challengers - Match 38 - St George's Park, Port Elizabeth

Ajinkya Rahane and Jean Paul Duminy helped Mumbai script a much needed victory over the Banglore Royal Challengers, a victory which keeps them alive in this tournament. Choosing to start first Mumbai lost Master Blaster Sachin for duck. Sanath Jayasuriya and Rahane stabilized the innings before Jayasuriya was adjudged lbw off van Merwe. The exit of Jayasuriya brought together JP Duminy and Rahane. They were involved in a brilliant unbeaten 103 run partnership with Rahane scoring 62 of 49 balls and Duminy contributing 59 of 41 balls. This partnership helped Mumbai reach a competitive score of 158.

Banglore needing just 159 for victory, made a mockery of their run chase. They kept loosing wickets at regular intervals and the moment you thought someone had settled to play a better innings, a needless shot was played to push Banglore further into abyss. Boucher played a brilliant cameo at the end of the innings, but his 48 from 33 balls was not enough to fetch Banglore a victory. On the bowling front Harbhajan bowled economically and picked up two wickets conceding just 15 runs of his quota of 4 overs.
