An inpressive bowling spell of 15/4 from Bhatia helped Delhi win against the Deccan Chargers by 12 runs. Having won the toss, Deccan Chargers opted to bowl first and quickly got Rid of Gambhir. But that did not stop the Delhi batsmen from playing their shots. De Villiers and Dilshan were once again the stars with the bat managing 44 and 37 respectively. Sehwag was back for Delhi and opted to bat at number 5, but he managed only 12 after hitting one to Symonds. Karthik ensured the match finished off in style, smashing 44 of 23 balls and taking Delhi to an imposing 173/7.

In reply, Gilchrist got the Chargers off to a flier. They then lost Suman and Sharma in quick sucession. But that did not stop Gilchrist from playing his shots. He was finally snapped by Sangwan for 64 of 33 ball. With Symonds and Teja going well, Deccan looked like easily winning the game. Bhatia however thought otherwise, producing a magnificant over that got rid of Symonds(41) and D Smith(1) within two balls. Deccan were all out 161.
