Kings XI Punjab Vs Mumbai Indians - Match 20 - Kingsmead, Durban - Bulletin

Kings XI Punjab beat Mumbai Indians by 3 runs in a low scoring, nail biting thriller. Deciding to bat first on a slow batting track Kings XI batsmen never looked dangerous to set a big target. They lost their openers early and except for Sangakara who scored a gritty unbeaten 45 of 44 balls none of the Kings XI batsmen looked to occupy the crease. Some accurate bowling by Mumbai Indians, especially Malinga who returned with the figures of 2/12 and Zaheer Khan made sure that Kings XI never got beyond the six run per over mark. Kings XI ended up with 119 at the end of their 20 overs.

Chasing a low target of 120 and boasting of some of the biggest names in their batting line up, Mumbai chase started off catastrophically loosing both their star openers Sachin and Jayasuriya for just 4 runs on the board. With the dew factor negated by the winds, Kings XI bowlers were on a roll taking wickets at regular intervals. With the fall of Duminy's wicket in the final over, in which they needed 12 runs for victory, Mumbai's hopes were shattered. Kudos to the intelligent bowling changes made by Yuvaraj and an excellent spell of fast bowling from Yusuf Abdulla who is making heads turn in this IPL season.
